We focus a lot on exercises, grammar charts and pronunciation, but you can learn so much about grammar and a bunch of new words by reading stories.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Especially if you proactively take note of new words and phrases. Of course, the problem can often be that we cannot hear the words pronounced. He was very short and could not throw the ball high enough to get it through the net.<\/strong> <br \/>Pero ten\u00eda un problema. Era muy petizo y no pod\u00eda tirar la pelota demasiado alto para que llegara a pasar por la red.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All the kids laughed at him.<\/strong> <br \/>Todos los chicos se re\u00edan de \u00e9l.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cYou\u2019ll never be a basketball player. You\u2019re way too short,\u201d said one of the kids, as he screwed up his face.<\/strong> <br \/>\u201cNunca ser\u00e1s un jugador de basket. He would pray to be taller. <\/strong><br \/>Pedro rezaba todas las noches. Ped\u00eda ser m\u00e1s alto.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cPlease, God. Give me longer legs,\u201d he would say.<\/strong> <br \/>\u201cPor favor, Dios. Dame piernas m\u00e1s largas\u201d, repet\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cGive me longer legs so I can follow my dream and become the world\u2019s best basketball player. <\/strong><br \/>\u201cDame piernas m\u00e1s largas para poder cumplir el sue\u00f1o de convertirme en el mejor jugador de basket\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>One morning he woke up and followed his usual routine, eating his basketball-shaped breakfast cereal before brushing his teeth and saying his motto.<\/strong><br \/>Una ma\u00f1ana se despert\u00f3 e hizo su rutina, como siempre. Desayun\u00f3 su cereal con forma de pelotas de basket antes de lavarse los dientes y repetir su mantra.<\/p>\n<p><strong>While he looked into the mirror and recited the three words, \u201cnever give up,\u201d three boys hid outside behind a small green bush.<\/strong> <br \/>Mientras se miraba en el espejo y recitabalas palabras \u201cno te des nunca por vencido\u201d, hab\u00eda tres ni\u00f1os afuera escondidos detr\u00e1s de un peque\u00f1o arbusto.<\/p>\n<p><strong>They laughed\u2026 They waited.<\/strong> <br \/>Se rieron\u2026 Esperaron.<\/p>\n<p><strong>They had a plan to steal Peter\u2019s basketball. The basketball Peter carried with him everywhere he went.<\/strong><br \/>Ten\u00edan planeado robar la pelota de pedro. La pelota de basket que llevaba a todos lados.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peter came down the stairs, spinning his basketball on one finger. <\/strong><br \/>Pedro baj\u00f3 las escaleras haciendo girar su pelota en un dedo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When he reached the front door and stepped outside, the three boys leapt out from behind the bush.<\/strong> <br \/>Cuando lleg\u00f3 a la puerta de calle y sali\u00f3, los tres ni\u00f1os saltaron de detr\u00e1s del arbusto.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cHey, Peter.
